NAACP calls on Harlandale ISD to reinstate MLK Day holiday
“The local branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is calling on Harlandale ISD administrators to reinstate Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a school holiday.
The district decided last month to conduct classes on MLK Day in order to give students and staff Nov. 3 — Election Day — off to avoid the spread of COVID-19 at eight campuses that were voting locations.”
