SABIFF Showcases Black Feminist

Black Feminist is a feature-length documentary film surrounding the double-edged sword of racial and gender oppression that Black women face in America. Told through interviews from scholars, lecturers, writers, business owners, veterans, comedians and authors, this documentary is narrated by our storybook character LaToya Johnson, played by Nadirah Lugg.  Stream in at 2:00 pm central time. After the film, at 3:00 pm central standard time; SABIFF’s Director Ada M. Babineaux hosts a ‘reel talk’ back with the filmmaker, Zanah Thirus.  An actress, producer, writer, and director from Chicago IL, Zanah founded Zanah Thirus Productions LLC, which focuses on merging arts and activism though documentary and narrative storytelling. Her films surround subjects such as gender, race, politics, and mental health. She also has a successful podcast that demystifies making movies.
