Dr. Levi Watkins Tennessee State University (TSU) to Meharry Accelerated Scholarship Program

If you know an African American male, the program below will give them the opportunity to complete medical school in 7 years instead of 8.  It includes tuition, fees, room, and board.  The university has a strong representation of minority students, including females, but is searching for more African American males to diversify their class!

 

Dr. Levi Watkins Tennessee State University (TSU) to Meharry Accelerated Scholarship Program was established to provide scholarships for outstanding high school graduates and enrolled students who meet the criteria for admission and choose a career in medicine or dentistry.

 

To be considered for the program, you must be admitted to Tennessee State University as a first-time freshman and domestic student for Fall 2021.  Then, you should apply at www.tnstate.edu/watkins.  

 

The admissions requirements for the Dr. Levi Watkins program are a 28 ACT/1310 SAT and 3.5 GPA. The benefits of this program are:

 

  • Scholarship Including Tuition, Fees, and Room & Board
  • Live in Honors College (Year 1) Live in New Residence Hall (Years 2 and 3)
  • MCAT/DAT prep with mentorship with Meharry Professors, Current Students, and Alumni

 

Students who meet the admissions requirements will be interviewed for the program.  Students who do not meet the admissions requirements will be considered for the traditional TSU to Meharry four year program.
