NAACPSA supports H.B. 716 – The Mold Bill

Yesterday, NAACP-SA President Dr.Hudspeth went before the Urban Affairs House Committee of the Texas Legislature in Austin testifying in support of H.B. 716 – The Mold Bill was sponsored by Rep. Barbara Gervin-Hawkins.

The bill specifically focuses on mold contamination in housing developments supported by financial assistance administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. H.B. 716 “seeks to address the concern” about the presence of mold “by requiring the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to conduct a study on the number of incidents and cause of mold contamination in housing developments that are wholly or partly supported by financial assistance administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
