Economic Development.  Store-Front Grant Applications.  Matching grant program for up to $10,000 for façade improvement (visible from street view).  All grant funds must be matched dollar for dollar by the property owner.  Sponsored by S.A.G.E. Education.  Affordable Connectivity Program.   Benefits:  Service discount up to $30 monthly.  Device discount up to $100 monthly for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer with a co-payment of more than $10 but less than $50.  Only one monthly service discount and one device discount allowed per household.  Eligibility determined by participation in any of the following programs:  SNAP, Medicaid, Federal Public Housing Assistance, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), WIC, Veterans Pension or Survivor Benefits.  Sponsored by the Federal Communications Commission.  Getinternet.gov

 

Employment readiness:  Community Clothing Closet.  4551 Dietrich Road, SAT.  Free and open to the public.  Closed daily for lunch from 12 noon to 1 PM.  Bring a bag and shop.  Call 210-485-0801

 

HealthCommunity Vaccination Events.  The City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District has a map of available “pop-up” vaccine clinics available in Bexar County.  Covid-19 and back to school vaccines (K-12) are available at no cost.  You do not need insurance to get a vaccine.  No advance registration is needed.  You do not need to return to the same location to get additional Covid-19 vaccine doses.   Eligibility:  adults and children 6 months and older.  For information call 311 or 210-207-6000.  Sponsored by San Antonio Metro Health District.

SACRD (San Antonio Community Resource Directory).  The organization connects people to available resources.  Some of the problems addressed include addiction/recovery programs, bereavement, blankets, childcare, eyeglasses, food assistance, ID recovery, maternity care, medical and dental needs, mental health care, rental and utility assistance, senior programs, showers, transportation assistance, veterans’ services, and tax preparation.  SACRD.org
