2024 ELECTIONS
- There will be a run-off election for the NEISD seat vacated by the demise of the late Board Member Terri Williams.
- Texas Senate Bill #2 created 3 at-large positions on the Board of Directors for appraisal districts with a population of 75,000 or more. Voters will case 3 votes (Place #1 Place #2, & Place #3) on the May 4 ballot. These positions are non-partisan and were not included on the primary ballot.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Transportation
VIA’s Accessible Transit Advisory Committee (ATAC): Friday, May 3, 2024, is the application deadline to participate on the Transit Advisory Committee. Preferred participants are individuals who use VIA’s bus and van services as well as those involved with organizations aiding the disability community. The committee is composed of five VIA trustees and 10 community liaisons. Three of the community liaison positions are reserved for those who frequently use VIA transit services. Meetings are held three to four times annually. Information is available at VIAinfo.net/ATAC

The deadline to protest property taxes in Texas is May 15, 2024. The deadline is 30 days from the date the appraisal district mails the notice…not upon the owner receiving the notice.
